The Bird and the Fish
Does anyone feel like the bird that was flying above the old mans boat might be Hemingway in some way? The fish that the old man hooked also could be Hemingway in some way also.

In my opinion neither the bird or the fish represent Hemingway. I think that the old man still represents Hemingway and that the bird was something or someone in Hemingway's life that led him towards his idea for this story (the fish). If there was a way that either animal could represent Hemingway i would be interested to hear about it though.
