Stream of Consciousness
On page 68, I was starting to get confused about what Hemingway was trying to say. He goes on for the whole page, talking about bone spurs and chicken fights. It was like the Old Man, probably even Hemingway, was having a stream of consciousness where he writes down whatever that comes into his head. He rambles on about baseball, DiMaggio, chickens, and sharks. Then on page 70, goes into a story about arm wrestling. I think this is a strong indication of the Old Man losing his mind, but I have no clue if there is an underlying message Hemingway is trying to say.
In Summary: What is he talking about?!
