Oldman crazy??

Is the oldman getting heat stroke or is he just loosing his mind (like Hemingway did)? He has been on that boat for awhile now and has not really been eating anything or drinking.

I've been thinking about this too! I think the old man really is slowly losing his mind... He keeps talking to himself, and as time passes, his conversations get more enthusiastic and... unrealistic? at first he is sort of talking to the fish ( a living creature) and making comments that seem sort of normal ( i guess) but then he starts talking to his hand... as though it has feelings... Im not sure what other people are thinking but i think the old man is progressively getting closer and closer to his breaking point, and losing site of reality.

I agree i thin he is going crazy because who stays on a boat that long and eats only fish and talks to himself
