In the story "The Old Man and the Sea", Hemingway is was trying to find his way past the various obstacles in his writing. For example, a puppet and it's strings, Hemingway is the strings because of the way he expresses his writing by making the reader think; the puppet would be the reader that Hemingway has complete control of. This story leads to confused minds, discussions, unknown topics, leading a terrible ending.
